Hope, then Rescued
Its been so long since I have last heard my mom's voice. I was starting to forget things since I already had so many things to worry about here on the island. Me and a couple of other people from my group decided to go gather some fruit because we were getting really hungry and we were scared of dying. I had never been so scared before. I was scared of dying, even though I didn't have a life on this island, I had some hope inside of me. I had this feeling that we were going to get rescued. I've been like this since I was little. Whenever I had some type of hope in me, I wouldn't give up because I knew I would get what I want in the end. After gathering the fruit, we were walking and talking back to the island. And all of a sudden I heard this loud noise in the sky. I had never heard this much noise before. I looked up and saw about 7 helicopters. They came to rescue us. I was so happy I just dropped everything went to get the conch and blew it to call everyone over. The helicopters landed and rescued us. And out of one of the helicopters came out my brother. They said they were looking for us everywhere. And somehow they found out that an airplane crashed on this island so they came to rescue the surviving people. My brother said they weren't sure if the airplane was ours, but he said he had some hope in him; just like me. I felt so special for having so many people here to rescue us. I had never been so happy before.

Big conflict on the island
Melissa; our leader, gathered all of us together on the beach. The conch was going around and everyone had to say something new we should try. Edwin said we should have a little feast with lots of food, drinks, maybe even fruits. And he said we could even make up our own music by gathering some rocks and cans and everyone could clap, dance and sing. Jack; he one who always fights with Edwin jumped in the conversation when he wasn't even holding the conch. He jumped on Edwin and they started fighting like always. But this time was different, it wasn't just Edwin and Jack fighting, this time I jumped in too because I was so done with everyone being able to do what they want to do. I thought to myself that why can't I fight with people I dislike. I started fighting with this girl that had been really selfish and annoying lately. Her name is Lucy. After the fight I had noticed that everyone was fighting with eachother. The fight would have continued for god knows how long if Melissa hadn't blown the conch. Everyone stopped and listened to the leader. She said that she was leaving and who ever wanted to go with her had to know never to fight and had to think about not just themselves, but everyone else too. Out of the 30 people 19 people went with her as well as me. The other 11 kids went with Jack; the trouble maker. Jack's group were always starting trouble and acting so savage. My group wasn't so savage. We woke up, got food, ate, talked, then slept. I really liked the new group. We named ourselves the anti troublemakers. You can guess what the others named themselves; troublemakers.

Missing my tennis racket [Log 3]
Its been weeks now. I miss home so much. I wish i had my tennis racket with me. I miss playing tennis. Back home I used to play tennis every weekend with my Dad. I started playing since I was a little girl, and I have played since then. Plus playing tennis would have me stay in shape. Now I'm losing weight barely eating anything and I'm losing all my muscles :) . We decided to get in a circle with all the kids and we would pass around the conch. The person who was holding the conch could talk. The rest of the people had to be quiet and listen. Everyone would say something that they missed. When it was my turn I said playing tennis. That's how I got the idea of writing about my tennis racket. We have no food so we have to go looking for some. I will continue my journal later on.

Trying to stay strong
Its been about a week now that we have been stuck on this island. A lot of the little kids are getting kind of worried because some kids are making up rumors. Since I'm one of the oldest ones, me and the other older kids are trying our best to keep the little ones calm. We're good on water, we have lots of water. We usually shower with the water from the sea, and we drink water from the pond. We're finding some food, but not too much. We found like one animal, and killed it. We're kind of getting better at hunting for food. Since there are a lot of kids, we always seperate into groups of 3 or 4 to accomplish a task. I don't know how much longer I can stay here though. I miss my brothers, and my parents. It's around my brother's birthday now. He was going to turn 7. I wish we had cell phones, so I could at least say happy birthday. It's kind of getting late and I'm really tired from walking around today. I think I'm going to go sleep while the other kids talk, yell, and argue.

My first day on the island

Me and my classmates got stuck on an island in the middle of no where. This island is very pretty though. There are palm trees everywhere and all i see is green. We have no adults with us. We were all really thirsty and hungry so we went looking for food and water. We all split up into groups of 3. The first group [which i was in] went looking for food. We looked everywhere, we climbed up on trees, we tried hunting for food, and we even tried to make food from plants. The second group went looking for water or any other type of drinks. And the third group gathered some wood and ropes and started making tents, or shelter. We all knew that it was time to gather up in our gathering place when the leader blew the conch. And the leader blew it after about 45 minutes of looking for food, water, or making shelter. I really like our leader. She treats everyone fair and she knows common sense. Two guys in our group always fight. Their names are Edwin and Jack. Our leader Melissa stops them though. Because we all need to be on the same team to survive. Today was very tiring. I climbed up so many trees that i feel like a pro at climbing. We ate lots of meat too. I don't really like meat, but when it comes to ending your life, you gotta do what you have to do to survive. The guys are trying to make fire because it's getting a little cold. I hear Edwin and Jack arguing in the background. I will just go and try to help them i guess. It's almost night time. I hope the tents the third group made are comfortable :) .
